Our goal at Mystic Mountain

Recognizing we are not on site to welcome our valued guests, we feel it is even more important to create a welcoming ambiance. Our goal is not only to meet our guests' expectations but to exceed them. We welcome and value your comments, reviews, and suggestions.

5 STARS! This property far exceeded our expectations in all aspects. This home is excellently maintained, with everything guests would want and more. Our family especially loved the views from the spacious outdoor deck, the private dock with the canoe and kayak, the pool table, the deer that came to visit in the front yard, and the many trails for hiking. It's also a short drive to GNP which we visited twice. Our host, Kalli had several brochures and printed out information about what we could do around the area. This was super helpful as it was our first time to this area. We will definitely book this property again. Oh, one more thing that I appreciated: In all the bedrooms there are two chairs with a table and reading lamp. So, if you want to have some private quiet time to read or write, this was really a special touch. Thank you Kalli, for providing such a wonderful place for our family to be together.

The property was wonderful! It has a spectacular view of the mountains. Even though the lake levels were low we still enjoyed the walking trails and view. There was plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen was great. Everything was in good working order, including the grill. Would definitely consider this property again!

This property lives up to everything listed about it. Kalli is incredibly helpful and provides all the information anyone could need to vacation in Montana. She is correct when she says there are plenty of activities on the property. My family, ranging from age 7 to 78, enjoyed any of the items provided. The kitchen is fully stocked, making meal preparation easy. The house is conveniently located between Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park which made traveling to daily activities simple. Would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us, Kalli.

We just came back from a wonderful family vacation at the Mystic Mountain Retreat, which exceeded our expectations. Your house is truly fabulous! Thank you so much for making it available to us. Your attention to detail is evident everywhere, and very much appreciated. The house was impeccably clean, and the hosts obviously pay great attention to every detail to make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible. The views are extraordinary, and the property itself is beautiful. Would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for a special vacation venue in north Montana.

Just rent it!
This property was the best ever. The communication with the owner was excellent. The property was phenomenal, the kitchen was very well stocked, there was so much to do on site and the attention to detail was the best I'd ever seen. We wanted for nothing. Great family escape in a beautiful part of the country. The session with Helen ( Kalli's local photographer) was great. She captured some great and memorable photos of our family. I appreciate the suggestion of using her. She is very nice.

Property is unbelievable!
Amazing views, stocked with everything you need and then plenty of extra touches such as coolers, spotting scope for views and so much more. Library was stocked full of interesting books. Although we explored the area for most of our trip, we could have spent a week here just reading, relaxing, kayaking and fishing. Hoping to return someday soon!

We loved the property and its location near GNP and the charming town of Bigfork. Kalli was very helpful and responsive throughout the process. The layout worked perfectly for our group of nine. There was plenty of space for being together or having privacy when needed. The trails and access to the water were a bonus. There is an Osprey nest right off the deck. We had the pleasure of watching the chicks learn to fly and leave the nest while we were there! Thank you for sharing your fantastic place with us -We hope to return!

This is a truly amazing property. It is a gorgeous spot with beautiful lakes, forest, hiking trails and nearby access to amazing outdoor experiences in glacier national Park, Flathead Lake, town of Bigfork. But the house itself is probably the best VRBO I have ever stayed at, and I’ve stayed at a lot. They have literally thought of everything you might possibly need or want. It’s beautifully cared for, clearly by owners who love it. They give lots of great advice about things to do in the area. Perfect for a family get together. We would love to come and stay again!

This home was equipped with absolutely everything one could ever want or need to thoroughly delight in spending time with family and friends. The private dock with canoe and kayaks and inner tubes from the garage provided hours and hours of fun for our grandkids. Beautiful scenery, beautiful hiking, fun cooking and barbecuing, and a library of books, videos and games to keep the most energetic occupied continually. It was perfect!!

Dear Kalli
The house, the grounds, dock & everything were amazing. I could not have made a better choice. The accommodations for eight was perfect, plenty of room in the kitchen for four cooks. There was not anything we didn’t have at our disposal. Learned how important bear spray is.
There was not anything we didn’t have at our disposal. I certainly would come back again. Thank you so much for all your e-mails throughout the process.

Best wishes The Nelson’s, Scarbrough’s, Mathews’s & Voto families

Kalli, you clearly maintain the property impeccably!
The house is pristine, we promise to leave it that way! Imagine my surprise when I began to cook last night and discovering the gold mine of Le Creuset cookware available. I just went ahead and poured myself a glass of wine and pretended to be Julia Childs.
We have four daughters but they are very adventurous. The younger two went out exploring last night and found the dock thanks to your excellent picture guide. They also quickly discovered the pool table and played a game or three.
Your house is the largest we booked, and came along at the perfect time in our travels. It’s nice for all of us to get a little extra space and solitude!

PART TWO OF THE ABOVE GUEST REVIEW: What a treat! Views from the property are stunning! Our family really enjoyed exploring the property inside and out. I wish we could’ve stayed another month and made a dent in the amazing selection of books available. There are games galore—in both family spaces and kid closets, as well as the barn, which I nearly missed thinking it was owner storage! The house is immaculate, beautifully and warmly decorated. Daily, we saw deer, wild turkeys, an eagle flying back and forth to its nest. We enjoyed a gourmet kitchen, the fire pit and stars at night, Glacier National Park, Bigfork and Flathead Lake by day. Wonderful property, great owner communication!

A Magical Place
If you are looking for an amazing home to spend some time with family and friends, that's in an indescribably beautiful setting, close to a great little town, close to Glacier National Park, close to great fly fishing on the Flathead or Swan rivers, then Mystic Mountain is for you. Everything about this property is 5+ stars. We especially enjoyed the walks around the 15 acres, and spending time fishing and using the kayaks and canoe for a relaxing ride on the water. Kalli is an amazing host, the communication was unreal professional and helpful, and the home was loaded with stuff to do (pool, ping pong, games, books, firepit....). Zero complaints about anything. Like the title says - A Magical Place!!!
— D.Nelson, 22 Aug 2022

What a wonderful experience !! Kalli is the best with communication and all the information you will need . The house is fantastic with majestic views and lots of room This house comes with everything you will need and I mean everything !! We made some awesome memories at Mystic Mountain !!

— The Glacier Girls, 13 Aug 2022
Mystic Mountain is a lovely property and very peaceful. You have access to well marked trails and a lake/pond with kayak, canoe, and life preservers. My kids loved swimming and there was plenty to do at the property itself. Well thought out amenities and the location is close to Glacier National Park as well as cute towns of Big Fork, Kalispell and Whitefish. We did several tours of the area and said at various times that we wished we had more time to enjoy the house itself. We all wished we had stayed longer! Looking forward to going back sometime in the future!

Kalli, thank you for sharing your home with our family. We had a great time and would recommend Mystic Mountain to anyone who would listen! There were 11 of us ranging from 3-73. Of course as the Grandma and Grandpa we snagged the King room on first floor. What a sanctuary for those moments when the wonderful exuberance of young children became too much at the end of long days! There was plenty of room for our 3 family units with kids. Everyone was able to find their own space. We were grateful for a laundry room. We found that our favorites were sitting on the deck both early in the morning and later evening. Our meals were also enjoyed out on the deck with a gorgeous view or at times at the kitchen island. The frontyard fire pit got plenty of use. The dining table became the puzzle/board game table. Plenty of kitchen room to make our meals (loved the Le Creuset). We found since we were out and about, we only cooked 75% of the time. We enjoyed Burgertown and their Huckleberry shakes (yum), Wayfarer's State Park on Flathead Lake, boat ride on Lake McDonald, Trail of the Cedars, scenic raft trip on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River (our favorite with young children). Mystic's lower garage with darts, ping pong, Foosball and whiffleball was a hit with all the kids and their parents. Pool table in the garage used several times. Since the water levels were so low on the closest lakes we didn't fish, but did lots of hiking. The view they provided was great. Going To The Sun Road finally opened the last day we were here (June 25). Our entire group was SO happy. This area has so much to offer all ages and stages. Mystic Mountain was a 5☆ base camp for all activities.

The property and the view are AWESOME! We had people from ages 19 to 60 and everyone LOVED Mystic Mountain! The game room was a BIG HIT with everyone and the pool table in the garage was used every day. The property had everything that we needed! Several arms of the lake had extremely low water, so we we didn't know if we would be able to fish. Kalli was available to answer all the questions ( and I asked quite a few) and we were able to fish the biggest arm of the lake! The fishing was INCREDIBLE!!! We visited Bigfork for lunch and the local drive had Delicious Food. We also went to the Kalispell and Whitefish and had lots of fun!!! Mystic Mountain is DEFINITELY on our list to visit again in the future! Once again I have to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Kalli for always being available for all the questions. She made this trip unforgettable!

Mystic Mountain Magic
"During Covid - we have taken the opportunity to do virtual school and work. We have taken our children to explore the National Parks and see America. This stop at Mystic Mountain certainly fit the bill of quarantine and social distancing.... the property was so amazing that we only left twice to go to Glacier National Park. We canoed, fished, cooked s’mores and enjoyed all the beauty that Mystic Mountain had to offer. Our children loved the trails and the special treasures found along the way - they painted rocks to leave in sacred circle on top of the mountain trail.... with all the rocks of the people who had been there before them. Truly a magical place to stay.
— Elisabeth H, 29 Sep 2020
My wife & I rented the house at Mystic Mountain last week and it was spectacular. We hosted 2 friends and 4 adult children. The house provided everything you can ask for. Wonderful views, trails, lakes and is landscaped perfectly. Inside the house everyone was so comfortable that a few of them didn't want to leave the house. The master suite was great and all the other rooms were very spacious and uniquely decorated. We had a blast playing pool, ping pong, horseshoes and corn hole.....the adults ruled! The location is 10 minutes from some great places to eat and a nice town to do some shopping. We loved the Echo Lake Cafe and Tamarack Brewing Company. We were about 30 minutes from horseback riding and 40 minutes from Glacier National Park. We have already put our request in for 2021!! We highly recommend this Mystic Mountain getaway!! — John & Emily, 19 Sep 2020

Mystic. Majestic. Magnificent experience! A HIGHLY recommended property! We are a family of 11 adults and the open kitchen/living room floor plan with a view of the entire deck overlooking the lake had all of us feeling connected the entire trip. Cooking together and EVERY meal shared at the 2 picnic tables were highlights following outdoor activities. We are outdoor people and Kalli’s attention to detail and offerings (grill, cooler, games, floaters, kayaks, canoe, etc) were greatly appreciated. Her encouragement to devote some quality time on the property, exploring and enjoying the solitude, was the best advice! There are nice short trails worth exploring and the nights hanging out in the game room as a family were a blast! We also appreciated the spacious bedrooms and den (with sleeper sofa) — comfortable beds and shared bathroom arrangements. Lastly, Mystic Mountain is equipped with everything you could think of and more...This was not just a rental property — we truly felt like we were invited into Kalli’s home. Thank you for the lasting memories!

My family of 10 stayed at Mystic Mountain for a week. This place was spacious and beautiful, quiet and secluded. My family enjoyed all the fun things the owner had on the property from ping pong tables, horse shoes, pool, canoeing and Kayaking in the private lake on her property. There is a nest of Osprey near the house that we even got to see the baby birds fly out of the nest. The home is well equipped and we cooked and grilled and enjoyed eating outdoors on her large deck. At night we sat outside and enjoyed making s’mores and talking around her fire circle in her front yard and star gazing . The location was perfect, 20 min from the airport , 15 minutes to Flathead lake and 35 min to Glacier national park. Our family hiked in Glacier, went on a fishing trip in Flathead lake, chartered a boat to wild horse island, visited the Montana Vortex and Hungry Horse Damn. The views from the house were just so nice to wake up to everyday. I highly recommend staying here and hope that I can return again one day!! Mystic Mountain has it all!!!

What a fantastic property that lived up to our every expectation! The Flathead area of Montana is one of Mother Nature's spectacular gems and we could not have chosen a more comfortable and accommodating setting to call home for an all too short week. Thank you, Kalli, for sharing your little corner of heaven on earth and for your stellar communication and accommodation.

Our stay was absolutely magical! We will be back and will be telling our friends they should consider Mystic Mountain and Montana for their next getaway!
— Linda F, 19 Jun 2020
Great place! The house is beautiful and spacious. The surrounding woods and ponds are fun, but be aware that you don’t have complete access to all of them depending on current water levels. Other than that it was a win.
— Brian, 13 Jun 2020
Beautiful property; great location
We rented the property for a summer vacation with family. We had 8 adults and 4 kids of various ages, plus one infant. It's a lot of people in the kitchen at once, but otherwise, plenty of space/beds. It's a great house with a perfect location and beautiful surrounding property. Everyone loved the private grounds with our own lake and dock. The back deck was awesome too. The rental has everything you would need in the kitchen. Plenty of things to do for the kids. We loved it. I'd recommend this place to friends and other family wanting to visit Montana.

Mystic Mountain Montana is a great place to spend a week exploring all the activities available in Glacier NP and the Flathead Valley. Mystic Mountain has beautiful views from its huge deck, private lakes for canoeing and fishing, and a fire pit for family members to gather around in the evening. The house was clean and comfortable, with enough room for our family of 8 to enjoy! Kalli was very helpful with the registration and check-in procedures.
— Michael L, 02 Aug 2019
Mystic Mountain is a wonderful vacation destination with close proximity to Glacier National Park. We enjoyed an action back week full of hiking, white water rafting, and just generally enjoying the beautiful Montana countryside. The house is stocked with everything you need to enjoy your home away from home for a week. We have rented from Kalli in Costa Rica as well and know that her attention to detail is unmatched. I would highly recommend Mystic Mountain!! — Jessica Brock, 29 Jul 2019
We recently enjoyed a week at Mystic Mountain Retreat with our close family friends. It is truly a stunning property and the level of attention in the decor and amenities is unparalleled. We had two families of four and had plenty of space to unwind and relax. Our children loved the canoes and fished on the lake until sundown. We also enjoyed watching the osprey and bald head eagle from the back porch - beautiful. There was no shortage of guide books and tips for exploring the area at the house. We went to Glacier several times, but also hiked in Jewel Basin, which ended up being everyone’s favorite hike of the trip. We couldn’t recommend Bigfork and Mystic Mountain Retreat more - beautiful home and area of the country! — Amanda Shelton, 28 Jul 2019
Amazing views and a beautiful home!
We were a family of 9 staying at Mystic Mountain and the home was a perfect size. There were so many activities on site we certainly did not need to leave the property, but we did. The home provided for all of our kitchen and bathroom needs and there was easy access to grocery shopping. We were able to fish and swim on the property as well as enjoy the relaxing views on the deck. The rec room and the pool table provided hours of joy as did the outside fire pit. Highly recommend staying at Mystic Mountain, there was so much to do and the area provided for fun activities like going to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake fishing, Whitewater rafting, water parks, zip lining, and the list goes on. Fun will be had by all if you plan a Montana vacation!

Our family of twelve thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at this beautiful home. It is a stunning and peaceful property, with much to do for all ages. The older kids enjoyed the lake and canoes, pool table and fire pit, to name a few things. The younger ones enjoyed the abundance of toys, books, and games. The adults loved it all, including the gorgeous views. Kalli has gone out of her way to make her guests feel welcome and extremely comfortable. We would definitely consider renting again, and would highly recommend this wonderful property to others. Thank you, Kalli , for a fantastic week at Mystic Mountain!

— Pam A, 29 Jun 2019
The large, beautiful house overlooks private lakes for canoeing, fishing, swimming. Everything is turnkey. There are so many activities for all ages...from books, games, toys, dvds, billiards, etc. The most enjoyable times were when we discovered the natural beauty of the area. It is relatively close to Glacier Nat'l Park (45 mins and you're in the park, which is considered close). Nearby is Bigfork, MT, and Flathead Lake which is a very large lake for all kinds of water sports including sailing. We had a full house with ages 3 months to 81 years and it worked perfectly for us. Kids piled into a couple rooms, and the adults had plenty of space far from the kids (if desired)! Any questions were addressed quickly by the owner (or one of the on-call managers). Everyone was super friendly.

Perfect Family Getaway!
Our family absolutely loved this property and will certainly return. The property was well appointed and had everything we needed. The 15 acres offered plenty of opportunities to explore: Sunrises on the back patio, sunsets on the front lawn, fishing at the dock, and canoe rides on the lake. We were overwhelmed with the number of things there were to do on the property. The property was located a quick 10 minutes from Bigfork, but several times we found ourselves spending the entire day on property. The property manager was very quick to respond and helped us with all of our needs. It was nice to have such a responsive and helpful resource during our adventure in Montana. We can't wait for our next visit!

Mystic Mountain was the perfect place to spend a week with our family while they were visiting for our small wedding in Glacier. Our family of 8 was comfortable during our stay, and everyone was complimentary of the home and grounds. Every morning while drinking coffee we enjoyed watching deer and other wildlife from the deck. The house is in a perfect location to venture into Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, and the Jewel Basin. It is easy to spend an entire day on the deck relaxing and enjoying the beautiful mountain views. Our family really loved their stay, and we plan to book at Mystic Mountain in the future. — Kristen Sims Barbaree, 07 Oct 2017
What a fabulous home in which to share our summer vacation with siblings, children, and grandchildren. The amenities in the home were top-notch. And, the osprey family kept us thoroughly entranced. The television was NOT turned on during the entire week!! The location was perfect for experiencing the Flathead Valley, the Swan Mountains, Swan Lake, Whitefish & Kalispell, and Glacier National Park. — M. Barnhart, 24 Jul 2017

An AMAZING lake view home in beautiful Montana. Our time in Montana was very well spent in this beautiful home. The decorations and attention to detail as soon as you walk in are perfect. The home comes stocked with all necessary items and the kitchen exceeded expectations for a group that likes to cook! We spent our days enjoying the nearby scenery and the lake view. Our nights were often spent by the campfire pit. We have nothing but great things to say about working with Kalli and staying at her amazing property!

This property is amazing! Luxury in the home and relaxation and peace all around. If you are looking for a somewhat secluded property that has a lot to do right on the property - this is it. The views are amazing, the grounds are perfect. My family (from various states) came together at Mystic Mountain for 10 wonderful days in July.
